How to Play Americana
Americana Poker is played with 32 cards from the 7 to the Ace. Americana rules can be tricky because the normal “what beats what” differs from traditional games. In Americana a flush wins over a full house. Americana can be played with up to a max of 6 players with cards being dealt clockwise around the dealer. Typically players use an ante as well.
Americana Basics
The dealer will give each player 2 cards. One is face down unseen by other players and the other one is dealt face up seen by other players.
First Betting Round
After the first two cards are dealt the first betting round commences. The player with the highest card showing “Brings In” the first bet. If two players have the same high card then suits must be used to determine the highest card.
More Cards – More Betting Rounds
A third card is now dealt to each player face up with a betting round commencing afterwards. A fourth card is dealt face up to each player with another betting round. A fifth card is dealt to each player face up with another betting round.
