| Online Music Scandals: Apple Involved Possible price fixings in online music are causing a stir up with some of the largest companies such as Apple. Subpoenas are being issued among some of the largest companies in the world including Sony and possibly Apple over the recent price fixings among online music dealers.
The anti-competitive actions are being looked at by the antritrust divisions for possibly overcharging in music online. They are currently looking at wholesale prices to compare.
Apple users could be subject to these price hikes. Many sources including Steve Jobs, Apple Executive, has been quoted as saying this is what could be causing piracy. High prices are tempting iPod users to go the immoral way.
The old ways may be coming back to iPod users as piracy is always on the minds of users and suppliers. The issue will always be around and scare tactics such as Viruses may not be affecting Apple users due to the nature of their systems.
One of the major considerations being looked at is whether traditional prices should be charged for the same downloadable options. While the cost of the product is much cheaper, these reduced costs are not being passed onto the consumer. Many are labeling these record companies as being overly greedy.
