It seems Apple is continuing with their development on the touch screen models of their Macintosh computers which was rumored about in 2005.

The Macintosh touch screen models which were being discussed last month are currently in the news once again.  It seems Apple sees a lot of potential in these possible models and continues with their R & D.

The new models are not simply branched off rumors of the touch screen iPod.  The models and attributes will be fully functional, if they hit the shelves, for Mac OS X.  It is a belief that these touch screen models will allow for a huge increase in capabilities among the users.

It is not for sure if these new technologies will ever make it to the customer shelves.  These ideas are simply rumors about patents that Apple has been making for the last year or so.

Apple was also found purchasing a company called FingerWorks.  The company had halted all business activities which may have been cause by the potential buyout by Apple.  Fingerworks built a touch screen product that allowed gave the user touch screen capabilities.  It is also thought that Apple bought all of the patents from FingerWorks as well.

While all these rumors are backed by patents it is still unsure if the products will become reality.  What we do know is that the touch screen models continue to be researched by Apple and if they believe the products are worthy we may be in for a real treat.
